Move the filtering out of the electronics
→ production · part of the filtering done without electronics
The problem
Acoustic filtering to achieve on an auscultation device.
The classic approach would have processed the signal electronically, downstream — a better algorithm, more compute.
The governing constraint
The real need wasn't a better algorithm.
What was needed was to physically separate the useful frequency components of the signal, as close to the source as possible — not to recover them afterwards through computation.
The approach
Find the principle in another field.
Look at how the human cochlea works — it naturally sorts frequencies. Design a biomimetic acoustic and mechanical architecture that does part of the filtering without electronics, ahead of any digital processing.
The result
→ production
a working architecture, then industrialised and produced
0 compute
part of the filtering handled by mechanics, before the digital stage
